A selection of pubs and hotels are on the market in the Cambridgeshire area.
The Clarkson Arms in Wisbech has been put up for sale less than a year after the owners had their application to turn the building into a lap dancing club turned down. Fenland Council refused the plea after complaints were received from numerous residents who were concerned the club would cause 'noise and disturbance' to the neighbourhood.
The council licensing committee agreed it was "not an appropriate location" and rejected the application outright. Now, the pub is on the market for just £375,000.
Other venues included in the series of freeholds up for sale in the local area include
the White Lion Hotel on the South Brink, which has a price tag of £450,000. The 13-bedroom, three storey Georgian hotel boasts spectacular views over the Nene and has a 120-person capacity function room and a restaurant with room for 40 covers.
The hotel's turnover is said to be between £200,000 to £500,000 a year with a net profit of around £100,000, according to the estate agents in charge of marketing the hotel.
Also up for sale is the Five Bells, at Upwell, where the freehold is going for £695,000 for the freehold or the lease for £35,000. The riverside inn, which has seven letting bedrooms and a restaurant, had a turnover of £345,000 last year and this year's figure is said to be 10 per cent higher than that.
A highly popular and beautifully designed Italian restaurant and cocktail bar located in the vibrant area of London, is now available for purchase.
