An independent sales and letting agency based in Cardiff has acquired a Caerphilly-based counterpart. Jeffrey Ross’ acquisition of Brinsons sales and lettings business is the latest of several buyouts the company has completed over recent years.
In 2019, the company acquired auctioneers Seel and Co, followed by Penarth-based ACJ Sales and Lettings and financial services firm Grosvenor May in 2023. Brinsons was founded in 1900 as a surveyor and land adviser for farmers, becoming a well-established firm in the Caerphilly area since then.
Following the acquisition, the company will continue to be led by its existing management team, while remaining at its head office on Caerphilly’s Market Street.
Jeffrey Ross was founded in 2008. Originally operating from a small office in Pontcanna Street, the company has since expanded to have five branches around Cardiff.
Jeffrey Ross founder Ross Hooper-Nash commented: "Brinsons is a well-known and respected name in property sales and lettings in south Wales and so it is great that we have been able to acquire it to join our quickly growing family of agents across the region.”
"The team at Brinsons are experts in their field and in the area they serve, and are trusting us and will remain with us as we begin this new joint venture."
He continued that the group has expanded since 2019, bringing in not only estate agencies, but also financial services firms such as Grosvenor May, which it acquired in late 2023. Hooper-Nash added that the company “have lots more irons in the fire” as they aim to become “Wales’ number one estate, property and letting agent”.
Brinsons Managing Director Trevor Isaac said: "I'm very pleased to have completed on the sale of the Brinsons estate agency and residential letting business to Jeffrey Ross, a well-respected, family-owned independent practice.”
"I have retained the commercial, land and professional services side of Brinsons. I firmly believe that the part sale will help grow the Brinsons business as a whole and I’m excited about the future."
