Computer services and support company Chess ICT has successfully acquired independent billing systems specialists TMS, presently headquartered in Oxfordshire.
Established in 2001 by David and Suzanne Chappell, TMS is expected to provide the UK telecoms industry with channel support services and will bring Chess ICT a range of data and voice specialities. Chess will also integrate TMS’s services into its own product range to install a secure and well-managed billing service.
Furthermore, the company will also take on board TMS’s 100 channel partners and resellers in its network, and will incorporate the WLR3 integration team to support end-users with the installation of best systems for their individual needs.
David Pollock, Chess’s founder and CEO, said: “For a long time now, we’ve had an aspiration to acquire [TMS] if the opportunity presented itself. Their experience and reputation will really enhance relationships with our partners.”
The current management team, including operations director Helen Booker, will integrate itself smoothly into the Chess staff, but Suzanne Chappell will be retiring and thus will not make the transition along with her team.
Chappell said: “The next stage of TMS’s journey is going to be exciting as part of team Chess. I know that our senior management and team members will thrive as part of Chess, with its greater scale in sales and support and award-winning workplace ethos. With our years of channel focus and expertise and 112 loyal partners, we bring real value to Chess’s partners.”
Chess has stated that it will continue to expand its business by making further acquisitions in the future to enable a greater reach across the ICT industry and cater to more clients with newer services.
