Solihull based MotorServ UK has been bought by Lincolnshire’s Dack Motor Group after its business started to splutter because of a downturn in the used-car market.
MotorServ offers MOT services in Solihull, Birmingham as well as vehicle servicing. It provides customers with dealer level facilities; dedicated service consultants, comfortable waiting areas, with free Wi-Fi and refreshments. It also offers courtesy cars for customers to stay mobile with Collect & Delivery services to maximise convenience even further. In addition it provides a complimentary Wash & Vac service on all service and repair bookings.
Dack Motor Group, led by Leo Dack, operates multiple sites across Lincoln, Northampton, and Coventry and plans to integrate MotorServ UK into their operations. It offers a full suite of trusted vehicle services, including vehicle repairs, servicing and MOT, bodyshop, van sales, car and van rental and van conversions.
It was founded in 2010 by Dack. The company started out as a Vauxhall Specialist, with Leo being the sole person in the business.
MotorServ will continue operating from its current location but will rebrand under its new ownership. Founder Kamran Saleem has decided to step down.
Saleem said: “This decision wasn’t easy, but safeguarding jobs and maintaining the high service levels for our customers has always been my priority. The challenges of the industry made independent operation increasingly difficult, and joining Dack Motor Group ensures stability and future growth, while also providing more career opportunities.”
MotorServ UK has encountered considerable challenges in recent years. In 2023, the used car market took a sharp downturn, and demand for car services dropped by as much as 45%.
Despite these setbacks, the company remained committed to offering services like the £15 no pass-no fee MOT, while also running community initiatives such as car crime prevention days and charity fundraisers.
With the acquisition, MotorServ UK gains enhanced support and stability, ensuring that its staff and customer service continue to thrive.
