Glanville Environmental, a South West-headquartered drainage and civil engineering firm, has been acquired by Goldman Sachs-backed environmental services business Adler & Allan.
Glanville Environmental operates from five depots across the South West, with its head office located in Devon, delivering drainage civil engineering, installation and remediation services.
It specialises in geospatial surveys, high-pressure water jetting, gully cleansing, CCTV surveying, liquid waste movement and septic tank emptying. The company’s clients span industries including water, construction and rail, as well as domestic customers.
The acquisition of the 180-strong firm significantly enhances Harrogate-based Adler & Allan’s ability to tackle environmental challenges in the South West, including managing water resources and reducing pollution.
The deal is Adler & Allan’s largest to date and represents the company’s tenth acquisition in the past three years and its seventh in the utilities sector alone. The acquisition follows its takeover of sustainable remediation specialist MEL Environmental Solutions Ltd in October 2024.
Adler & Allan’s goal is to join up environmental services in order to make it easier for customers to access solutions for tackling the UK’s most pressing environmental challenges. According to the company, the acquisition of Glanville Environmental will reinforce its position as the market leading national provider of end-to-end environmental solutions across a range of industrial sectors.
Glanville Environmental Managing Director Jamie Treliving commented: “The extent of Adler & Allan’s service range, combined with our presence in the Southwest is a fantastic opportunity to broaden our customer offer, whilst further strengthening Adler & Allan’s leading position in the wastewater recycling industry."
Adler & Allan Chief Executive Henrik Pederson added: "Driven by our purpose of creating better environmental outcomes, welcoming Glanville Environmental into the Adler & Allan family represents another tangible step towards realising our plan to scale our operations and further strengthen our market leading package of integrated environmental solutions."
