A catering business and restaurant in Elland has been put on the market as a going concern.
Bertie's Banqueting Rooms has evolved from its forerunner Bertie's Bistro, which businessman Brett Woodward launched more than 30 years ago. The Banqueting Rooms first opened in 1988.
The business now boasts a raised terrace, a balcony, a bar, cloakroom and flexible staging and dance areas, as well as three grand banqueting rooms. The Crystal Ballroom boasts over £100,000 worth of crystal chandeliers and can accommodate up to 275 people.
Rumours have been circulating about the future of the business but its bosses have confirmed that they are confident a buyer will be found and the company will be sold as a going concern.
A spokesman for the firm explained to The Examiner that they hope the sale process will be resolved by 19 June. He added that there has been a number of inquiries from interested parties, noting: “We are hoping to sell the business as a going concern and certainly we plan to honour all the events and functions that booked in.”
In addition to the banqueting rooms and the bars on-site, the company has also developed a successful outside catering division.
