Crestwood Environmental Limited, a West Midlands-headquartered environmental consultancy, has been purchased by acquisitive Glasgow-based firm Mabbett & Associates Limited.
The deal, which strengthens a two-year partnership between the companies, creates a combined group numbering in excess of 150 staff with an enhanced service offering and technical resources.
Mabbett & Associates has existing sites in Glasgow, Inverness, Belfast, Cardiff, Anglesey, Dublin, Carlisle, Edinburgh, Dundee, Manchester, Leicester, Forres and Winchester. The acquisition extends its geographic reach, adding Crestwood’s offices in Wolverhampton and London.
Crestwood Environmental has been operating for more than 25 years, providing environmental, landscape, ecological and heritage consultancy to companies in a number of sectors across the UK. Since 2018, the company has also operated internationally, with support from a global consultancy business. Its services include survey, assessment, design, management, monitoring, analysis and communication.
The acquisition is Mabbett & Associates’ fourth strategic investment in the space of two years, since the firm transitioned into Inverness-based investment company GEG Capital. The deal follows its previous acquisitions of GH Johnston, Nevis Environmental and GEP Environmental.
Mabbett & Associates Managing Director Derek J. McNab commented: “We are excited to welcome the Crestwood Environmental team into Mabbett in a deal that we believe will bring huge benefits to the clients of both companies going forward, not to mention the new opportunities that the enhanced service offering will bring.”
McNab continued: “There are great synergies between the technical teams in the landscape architecture, planning and cultural heritage space but also some complementary skills and services in their environmental and ecological teams that will extend our geographical reach in England.”
Crestwood Environmental Managing Director Karl Jones added: “There is so much appetite and opportunity in the marketplace right now for the services we both offer and, together, we will be able to enhance our service offering to our clients locally, nationally and internationally.”
