The directors of 26-year-old design and marketing agency GDA Creative Marketing has been bought by two of its directors.
Founder and chairman Graham Dawson chose to retire this year, leaving the future direction of the company open. MD Alistair Farrant and creative director Jem Hager stepped up to buy-out the business.
With funding from the Royal Bank of Scotland, the pair bought the business for an undisclosed sum. They have plans to double the firm's turnover in the next five years, taking it to more than £2 million.
Mr Farrant commented on the acquisition: “Graham founded a vibrant, creative agency starting with just one employee, Jem, and gained a strong reputation in the north of England, particularly across the property sector.
“We are building on his legacy – diversifying our areas of expertise to include digital marketing and app development, whist expanding into new sectors including social housing and manufacturing.”
Based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, the company is widely respected in the local area and employs ten people from its base.
Alistair and Jem confirmed their intentions to build upon “the excellent solid foundations that Graham put in place and managed for so long”. They added that they are excited to move the business forward onto a new chapter.
