The Hilton Coylumbridge hotel, the largest hotel in its area of Badenoch and Strathspey, has been placed on the market with a £6.5 million price tag.
The hotel, which has 175 bedrooms and is staffed by 100 people, was given a royal opening by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh in December 1965.
A spokesperson for its owner Hilton Worldwide commented on the situation: “We can confirm that Hilton Coylumbridge is currently being marketed for sale. Hilton Worldwide has taken this difficult decision in order to pursue other opportunities that best fit our overall business strategy.
“We remain fully committed to expanding our presence in the UK and over the next few years plan to open 23 hotels across the country, which we anticipate will create over 300 jobs in 2013 alone.”
While a buyer is sought the Scottish hotel is to continue trading as normal the spokesperson went on to say.
The family friendly hotel is the close to the Cairngorms for skiing, has two pools, a tennis court, games arcade and activity park. It has facilities for conferences and events, as well as weddings.
