Chill Factore, the longest indoor ski slope in Britain, is being prepared for a sale as its owners start to look for some new investors, according to reports from The Sunday Times.
The snowsports centre is located in Manchester about four miles from the city centre, with good transport links from the M60 and passing trade and interest from the Trafford Centre. It boasts a 180m real snow slope, indoor climbing facilities and shops and restaurants.
Around seven million visitors have headed to the slope since it opened in 2007 as outdoor sports have continued to grow in popularity in Britain.
The paper reported that the company is likely to be sold for around £25 million, with corporate finance firm Livingstone Partners working with the business to help it find new backing. The complex was originally built at a cost of £33 million.
Bridges Ventures, a social investment firm co-founded by Sir Ronald Cohen, holds around half of the shares. Property company Pemberton is the second largest investor in Chill Factore.
The sale is expected to attract interest from rival operators and property investors.
