TXP (Technology x People) has completed the acquisition of Metatech Solutions, a Newcastle-based provider of specialist IT automation services to a wide range of sectors in the UK and internationally.
Metatch Solutions is a software company working within sectors including financial services, healthcare, automotive, aviation, telco, insurance and system integrator, serving both public and private clients.
Solihill-based TXP, meanwhile, is a digital transformation and technology resourcing business. The company is backed by private equity buy and build specialist Aliter Capital, which has a portfolio of investments in the UK support services sector.
TXP emerged just this month through the merger of Aliter Capital acquisitions Concept and Jumar, with Aliter saying that it would actively seek to acquire complementary businesses to add to the platform, focusing on Cloud technology solutions, app development, data and AI capabilities.
As part of its portfolio, Aliter Capital has invested heavily in the UK's ICT services sector over recent years. The firm is focused on working alongside and supporting TXP and other platform companies to grow their businesses, including through M&A activity.
Following the takeover, Metatech director Andy Scott (pictured above, right, with TXP's John Antunes) said that the company had “seen rapidly increasing demand for modernising legacy IT systems and we believe there is a very positive outlook for the Gen conversion market.”
He added: "Metatech's proven track record and unique technology solutions will place the group in a strong position to benefit from this growing demand and the business opportunities it will create. We look forward to working with John and the TXP team in the next phase of the business’s development.”
TXP Chief Executive John Antunes said that the acquisition of Metatech "comes at an ideal time for both businesses” and that the deal would “broaden TXP’s existing credentials, adding unique automated solutions, scarce technical skillsets, knowledge and experience.”
He continued: "Moving forward, this specialist know-how will be a vital element in delivering significant pipeline projects, as well as generating a wealth of new business opportunities."
