Insurance brokerage JMG Group has acquired Profile Insurance Services, a London-based provider of advice to a wide range of commercial and personal clients. The deal represents Yorkshire-based JMG Group’s 50th acquisition since its 2020 management buyout (MBO).
Profile Insurance Services was founded in 1997 and initially provided cover to high-net–worth professional football players. Expanding from this niche expertise, the firm has established itself as a respected broker, with a seven-strong team providing cover to a wide-ranging client base across the UK.
Melanie Burns, founder and Managing Director of Profile Insurance Services, said that the deal reflected the values and relationships the company had built over the years and added: “Becoming part of the JMG Group allows us to grow with the support of a like-minded business that genuinely cares about its people, clients and future.”
She continued: "The move gives us consistency and backing to grow in a natural way. Our clients will continue to work with the same team, with the added benefit of more support behind the scenes - from insurer reconciliation to access to wider market expertise - everything we need to flourish."
JMG Group Chief Executive Nick Houghton said that the Profile Insurance Services team was “loyal and deeply committed to their clients” and added that the company was “a stable, well-run business” that would “bring a range of skills that will enhance our group's proposition.”
Established in 2020 through the MBO of JM Glendinning Insurance Brokers, led by Nick Houghton and backed by Synova, JMG Group has used M&A to establish itself as a major UK insurance broker.
The group, which is headquartered in Guiseley, now has more than 800 staff working across 49 offices in England and Scotland. Earlier this year, it announced a major new equity investment, subject to regulatory approval, jointly led by Synova and GTCR alongside the JMG leadership team.
