Childcare group Kids Planet has acquired a nursery operator in the Midlands in a deal that takes its total of nurseries across England and Wales to more than 200. The firm has acquired Nottingham-based Hollies Nursery, which operates five sites.
Hollies Nurseries was founded more than 30 years ago with a site in Sherwood. The business has been run by three generations of the same family and now has five nurseries across the region.
Former Hollies Nurseries owners Becky and Drew Pike said that the decision to sell had been “extremely difficult”, but added that Kids Planet was the right owner to take the business forward “as our work ethic and ethos are closely aligned.”
The former owners added: “We recognise the value of having a progressive team with a focus on quality and we found this to be the case in our very first meeting with Kids Planet.”
The acquisition continues the rapid acquisitive growth of Kids Planet, which was founded with two settings in 2008 and has now expanded to become one of the UK’s leading nursery care providers, with 203 sites following the takeover of Hollies Nurseries.
