Nolte Kitchens UK has completed the acquisition of contracts kitchen installation firm BKNC for an undisclosed sum. The deal supports the substantial growth of Wilmslow-based Nolte’s direct-to-trade kitchen division and enhances its offering to the construction and housebuilding market.
BKNC, which is based in Wrexham, has a national client base of construction firms, including both large national housebuilders and smaller, bespoke luxury developers. Nolte Kitchens UK, which dates back to 1958 and was previously a shareholder in BKNC, is the UK distributor for German kitchen brand Nolte Küchen. The company has 15 showrooms across the UK and, following the acquisition of BKNC, is planning further expansion.
Chris Rushby, Managing Director of Nolte Kitchens UK, said that the firm had enjoyed an “excellent working relationship with BKNC for many years, both as an investor in the business and also as a supplier – providing the business and their clients with Nolte high quality contract kitchens and our premium luxury ranges.”
Rushby continued that the acquisition would bring numerous synergies and benefits to the company’s contract kitchen customers once BKNC’s “highly dedicated and experienced trade team” is integrated into Nolte Kitchens UK.
Rushby added: “As a manufacturer, Nolte Kitchens UK will be servicing directly substantially more large-scale developments with national house builders as well as the bespoke smaller builds. Acquiring BKNC will allow for more competitive pricing and streamlining of the process, with a greater control and a heightened service proposition, from the initial design stage, to ordering and delivery, right through to installation and dedicated aftercare.”
Following the acquisition, BKNC Managing Director Harry Ruler will remain with the combined business as Contracts Director. Ruler said that synergy between Nolte and BKNC "promises huge benefits for both new and existing clients.”
Ruler added that the merger would open “vast opportunities, allowing for the integration of resources and expertise to drive forward in a very competitive market” and give BKNC’s housebuilder clients access to Nolte Kitchens’ network of UK showrooms.
