A pre-pack administration deal has seen North West law firm Linder Myers Solicitors acquire Dickson Haslam.
Begbies Traynor partner Paul Stanley handled the insolvency and the sale along with Dean Watson from the firm's Manchester office.
The acquisition went through for an undisclosed sum, with the new owners taking on Dickson Haslam's business and its strong reputation.
Bernard Seymour, managing partner with Linder Myers, commented: “Dickson Haslam has gained an enviable reputation for providing quality legal services in Lancashire with a long history in the region. I am pleased to welcome the new teams to the business and look forward to building on our combined strengths as we continue to grow the practice.”
Joint administrator Mr Stanley explained that Dickson Haslam was hit by funding pressures and economic conditions. He told TheBusinessDesk.com: “The firm is one of many smaller legal practices that is struggling. Along with funding pressures, there is a lot of competition from major brands and there isn't the volume of work any more.”
Dickson Haslam is the latest in a string of acquisitions made by Linders Myers. The firm bought SNG Commercial in Manchester in a pre-pack in October 2012 and Rowlands Field Cunningham in late 2011.
