Yorkshire based letting agency Linley & Simpson has acquired two of its competitors, York-based Minster Property and East Leeds agency, Heritage.
The agencies, which were purchased for an undisclosed sum, take the number of acquisitions made by Linley & Simpson to six.
In 2015, Linley & Simpson secured £1.8 million through Santander’s Breakthrough Programme. Using these funds, the agency has since completed four acquisitions as part of its strategy to double its size over the next three years. In January 2016, it acquired the rental portfolio of independent estate agency, HERE. In April, it bought the York Property Company for an undisclosed sum, before the latest double acquisition.
The latest deal will see all of Minster’s managed properties taken over by Linley & Simpson’s flagship Micklegate branch. Will Linley, Linley & Simpson director, said of the acquisition: “Minster Property is a well-known name and respected brand in the thriving York lettings market and we are delighted to acquire their portfolio of properties.
“This acquisition is a natural progression for us and is a fitting way of marking our very own 10th anniversary of helping people move here in York and its surrounding villages."
The portfolio of Heritage properties will be split among Linley & Simpson’s four offices in Leeds in addition to its branch in Wakefield. “These extra homes we inherit will help us keep pace with an ever-increasing demand for properties to both rent and buy and inject more choice into the marketplace for tenants and buyers alike,” Linley stated.
Since setting up in 1997, Linley & Simpson has helped over 100,000 people move into approximately 40,000 homes.
