A leisure business in the Scottish Highlands is for sale as the owners look to their retirement.
Highland Heritage Limited includes four hotels, a medieval castle and a fleet of coaches. The business started out with the Royal Hotel in Tyndrum, which owner Ian Cleaver acquired in the 1970s. From here the business grew into a much larger company with a turnover in the region of £8 million.
A director of Colliers International UK hotels agency team, Alistair Letham, recommended the purchase as a rare chance to acquire a large and self-sustaining business in the Highlands.
He commented: “With a number of high quality properties that are in tune with their spectacular surroundings, a fleet of coaches and a huge database of satisfied customers, Highland Heritage is an extremely highly regarded and successful business.
“To sell it with an iconic Highland landmark such as Kilchurn Castle is the icing on the cake.”
All the properties are offered on a freehold basis and include the Royal Hotel in Tyndrum, the Ben Doran Hotel in the same town, and the Dalmally and Alexandra hotels in Oban.
No price has been named by the selling agents, but they have noted that the sale is primarily being offered as a business in its entirety, but consideration will be given to the sale of assets on a whole or individual basis.
