A logistics firm headquartered in Preston has acquired a pair of businesses based in Derbyshire. GBA Logistics has swooped for The Silver X Group and Bow Distribution and Warehousing as part of its strategic expansion plan.
The Silver X Group is a logistics and warehousing specialist based in Alfreton. The company provides IT-led logistics services, including courier, haulage, pallet distribution and warehousing. The firm was founded in 2013 and has more than 100,000 sq ft of warehouse space.
Bow Distribution and Warehousing, which is also based in Alfreton, specialises in storage and transportation for palletised goods. The company provides same-day, next day and economy deliver services, racked warehousing, block storage, import and export, operating from a 45,000 sq ft central facility, with 75,000 sq ft of storage across three warehouses.
Following the acquisition, GBA Logistics intends to retain the companies’ brand names, with the existing management teams, led by Managing Director and founder Gavin Burgess, joining the GBA Logistics group.
