Lythe Care Home is for sale with a price tag inviting offers of £1.3 million or above.
Located near Cullen in Moray, Scotland, the care home has been the subject of some controversy after the Care Inspectorate highlighted a significant concern about the levels of care received by the residents.
The management received instruction to immediately take action to improve the conditions of care.
However, the Press and Journal has reported that a spokesperson for the Care Inspectorate has confirmed that the home's operator, RDS Healthcare, will now list the care home for sale as a going concern.
The spokesman told the paper: “The Care Inspectorate is in close contact with the provider to ensure that residents' needs continue to be met and their rights respected during this process.”
For now the staff at the home itself are reportedly maintaining “business as normal” as much as possible.
The care home is registered for 36 residents and has been purpose-built as a care home with 33 bedrooms, 32 of which are en-suite. The care home is running with an average occupancy rate of 90 per cent plus, with current average fees of £563 a week and a turnover of £865,530.
