Crystal Dental Clinic, a dental practice based in a prosperous residential area of Macclesfield, has been acquired by Au Dental Group following a sale process handled by Christie & Co.
Located in a detached property on Macclesfield’s Park Lane, Crystal Dental Clinic is a four-surgery, mixed-income practice that has been described as one of the best in the area.
Au Dental Group acquired the business following a confidential sale process with Christie & Co’s Cathy Murphy. Following the acquisition, Au Dental Group, a family-run group founded by Amin Tejani and Ambareen Tejani-Sharif, now owns eight practices, with seven across the North West and one in Milton Keynes.
Post-acquisition, Crystal Dental Clinic will be rebranded as Park Lane Dental Centre. Au Dental Group also plans to install three state-of-the-art surgeries on the first floor of the clinic, significantly enhancing its capacity.
Commenting on the deal, Au Dental Group Managing Director Aly S Tejani said: “Our focus has always been on delivering excellent, patient-centred care, and this investment will allow us to provide even greater access to the people of Macclesfield."
Cathy Murphy, senior business agent – dental at Christie & Co, said that, reputationally, Crystal Dental Clinic was “one of the best practices in the area, which is a testament to the hard work of the Principal and her team.”
Murphy continued: "The site will become an exceptional addition to the Au family, given its strong practice performance and incredible growth. Given the history of the practice, interest in the opportunity was significant, and this shows the level of buyer activity for strong mixed practices in the North West."
More broadly, the significant interest in Crystal Dental Clinic during the confidential sale process is indicative of strong M&A appetite for community care settings such as dental practices, care homes, GP surgeries and pharmacies across the UK.
