Artisan Care Group, a major care home group that owns ten UK care homes, has been acquired by healthcare company Avery Healthcare. The acquisition adds 774 beds to Avery Healthcare’s portfolio.
Artisan Care Group owns ten newly developed care homes, located across the East Midlands, East of England and the South West. The homes were previously operated by Avery Healthcare under management agreements.
The acquisition transitions the care homes into full ownership, a significant step in Avery Healthcare’s continued expansion and the strategic consolidation of its portfolio of national care homes.
Avery Healthcare Chief Executive Jeremy Richardson: "We are delighted to welcome the Artisan homes into the Avery Group. Through our existing management relationship, these are homes we know well.”
"There is a very clear alignment in quality, values, and standards, making this a natural and exciting next step for the group."
Avery Healthcare, which employs close to 10,000 staff, is jointly owned by the Reuben Brothers and Welltower Inc. David and Simon Reuben, who are among the UK’s most prominent property investors, are involved in real estate investment, real estate development, private equity and debt financing. The brothers have real estate holdings across office, residential, retail, hotel and infrastructure properties.
Commenting on the latest acquisition, David Reuben, Avery’s majority shareholder, said: "Acquiring the Artisan Group was a natural strategic progression, given the strength of the relationship and the high-quality nature of the portfolio.”
"This move further reinforces our long term commitment to Avery and the UK social care sector."
