Midway Care Group, a firm providing specialist care services throughout Birmingham and the West Midlands, has been sold to City & County Healthcare Group, a nationwide provider of care homes which operates an acquisitive growth strategy.
City & County’s acquisition strategy sees it target community care businesses across all segments of the homecare market, allowing it to grow its offering and cement its position as a leading UK community care provider. Post-acquisition, the group then uses its financial and technical resources to help its acquired businesses grow.
Based in Birmingham, Midway Care Group provides care services for people with learning disabilities who may have additional requirements. The company works alongside Local Authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups throughout the West Midlands, including those in Birmingham, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Solihull.
The business operates across 12 residential locations and more than 50 supported living sites, providing over 21,000 hours of care and support services per week to approximately 190 clients. Post-acquisition, the firm’s existing management team will remain in place.
Law firm Wright Hassall acted on behalf of the Midway Care Group owners, undertaking legal work ahead of the sale. Robert Lee, a partner in Wright Hassall’s corporate law division, helped to facilitate the deal.
