One of the best-known hotels in Norfolk is rumoured to be up for sale following its administration last month.
Laccone Ltd, the owners of the Wroxham-based Broad House Hotel, called in Baker Tilly to act as administrators following the breach of a promise to repay £3.8 million in debts.
Baker Tilly is now seeking a buyer for the 16th century, nine-bedroom hotel and has announced that a deal could be struck with a potential purchaser within the next two weeks.
The hotel, which has an asking price of £2 million, is currently shut and all 36 members of staff have been made redundant.
A Baker Tilly spokeswoman said, "Negotiations with a possible buyer are under way and we are hopeful that this can be concluded in the next few weeks.
"We are still looking to speak to customers regarding functions booked at the hotel," she added.
The hotel, which is situated in 24 acres of landscaped parkland, was first opened in 2007. It had picked up a number of awards over the years, including being named Small Hotel of the Year at the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence in 2009.
It was also awarded the UK's Best Small Hotel for Customer Service gong at the Hotel Excellence Awards run by HRS.com in January last year.
