Oxford-based business jet charter and management company, Hangar 8, has announced plans to make up to four new acquisitions in the coming year.
The company's chief executive, Dustin Dryden, said they were hoping to complete the buy-out of one business within the next six months, with another three in the pipeline. He explained that they were also looking at expanding their managed fleet and said that he hoped the acquisitions will help expand their operations in Africa, where they already have officers in Lagos, Nigeria and South Africa.
"It's the perfect model down there for business jet operation. The roads are poor and companies need to move high-value items quickly. Airlines can't operate into the areas that we can," said Dryden.
He said that they were earning more and more business from the oil and mining companies in Africa, who were attracted by Hangar 8's European-registered aircraft and European crews, which are booked via their London-based office.
The company currently has 32 aircraft - including Europe's only Embraer Lineage - and are adding to that at the moment with two new jets, with another four to be added before the end of the year.
