Manchester-based tech recruitment company Venturi has been acquired by global organisational engineering business Org Group in a deal secured by restructuring specialists KR8 Advisory.
The deal secures the future of Venturi, which has operations in Manchester, as well as the USA and Germany, employing around 40 staff and 200 contractors across its global operations. The company has deep expertise across a number of high-demand verticals, including data, analytics, CRM, software engineering and ERP.
The company has a strong portfolio of longstanding client relationships, including with a number of blue-chip global brands, and has generated historical revenues of more than £40 million globally.
However, despite this and the fact it successfully navigated the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the business had suffered as a result of recent market challenges and a change in key personnel.
This ultimately led to a drop in revenues that meant the central UK business became unsustainable in its current form, despite management undertaking significant efforts to realign the company’s overhead base.
In the year to March 31 2024, Manchester-based Venturi Limited reported turnover of approximately £10.1 million, down from £19.7 million a year earlier, and saw its operating losses widen from £348,000 to around £428,000.
At the time, despite having total assets valued at around £5.3 million, the company’s total liabilities amounted to around £262,000.
Mike Lennon and Jimmy Saunders of KR8 Advisory were engaged to run a thorough marketing process which resulted in the group’s business and assets being acquired by Org Group, the owner of the Morgan McKinley recruitment agency.
Mike Lennon, Managing Director at KR8 Advisory, said: “The sale to Org Group presents a great opportunity to continue to grow the global Venturi business, furthering its mission to assist tech-based businesses in sourcing the best talent.”
