Vehicle brand Twisted has expanded its marine division with the acquisition of a boat retailer.
The company has acquired Noss Marina, Kingswear, Devon-based Network Yacht Brokers Dartmouth, expanding its marine brokerage and sales division while strengthening its presence along the south coast of England.
Network Yacht Brokers Dartmouth is part of the Network Yacht Brokers family of over 20 independent brokerage businesses. Local marinas include Dart Marina Yacht Harbour, Darthaven Marina, and Noss on Dart Marina on the River Dart, and Brixham and Torquay marinas in Torbay.
It has many boats for sale in these locations, as well as on the River Dart and Salcombe Harbour moorings, or ashore at one of the local boatyards which also include Dartside Quay, Baltic Wharf and Lincombe Boatyard.
Twisted Marine said it can now offer a complete end-to-end experience for boat owners, from initial purchase through ownership and eventual resale.
Twisted Marine is the sister company to Thirsk-based Twisted Automotive, which specialises in enhancing Land Rover Defenders.
Network Yacht Brokers sells a range of boats from luxury yachts to commercial passenger events ferries.
Jake Cronk, director of Twisted Marine, said: "The addition of Network Yacht Brokers Dartmouth to the Twisted family is a natural progression in our growth strategy. Dartmouth's rich maritime heritage and strategic location makes it the perfect complement to our existing operations, allowing us to better serve our customers with the exceptional standards they've come to expect from the Twisted brand."
Cronk explained that Network Yacht Brokers is the longest standing brokerage business at Noss Marina and was an obvious acquisition choice.
“This will springboard the Twisted brokerage portfolio while also offering a South West local outlet for Scorpion and Northstar sales,” he said.
The acquisition is strategically timed with Noss Marina's £100 million investment to create a new 232-berth marina with dry stack facilities. The destination marina will be coupled with a 69-bedroom four-star hotel with a waterside plaza featuring a piano bar with food served by local award-winning chef Mitch Tonks.
