Unlisted Collection is understood to have acquired the business and assets of St John Chinatown Ltd.
The company operates the St John Hotel, Restaurant and Bar off Leicester Square in London. However, it entered administration in October of 2012, less than a year after the venue was opened by Trevor Gulliver and Fergus Henderson.
Now, accountancy firm RSM Tenon has confirmed that it has found a buyer in the form of Unlisted – a firm founded by Singapore-based Loh Lik Peng.
A spokesman for RSM Tenon confirmed the situation while speaking with Big Hospitality: “Tim Dolder and Trevor Binyon were appointed joint administrators of St John Chinatown Ltd on 19 October 2012. The business continued to trade whilst they looked for a buyer.
“On 20 December 2012 Tim Dolder and Trevor Binyon sold the business and assets of St John Chinatown Ltd.”
Further details regarding the deal are expected to be released later this week, but the future operation of the business is likely to be impacted by the change in ownership to some extent. The buyer already owns the Town Hall Hotel & Apartments and Viajante restaurant in Bethnal Green.
