Canopy Tree Services, an East Midlands-headquartered tree services company, has been acquired by US tree and shrub care group Bartlett Tree Experts. The acquisition brings Connecticut-headquartered Bartlett’s network of UK and Ireland offices to 14.
Canopy Tree Services was founded in 2004 by Ben Edmonds and Steve Barker, providing tree surgery services across Nottingham, Derby and Leicester. Following the acquisition, Edmonds has joined Bartlett Tree Experts’ new East Midlands office, along with a team of six arborists.
Edmonds said that Bartlett Tree Experts “has been a leader in the industry for 117 years and is known for its scientific approach to tree care.” He added that the group’s "commitment to customer satisfaction aligns perfectly with our own values."
Jim Ingram, Bartlett Tree Experts’ President and Chief Operating Officer, said that the acquisition of Canopy Tree Services would allow the group “to expand our full range of scientific tree care services while continuing to honour our commitment to exceptional safety, science, technology, and business."
Richard Trippett, Vice President of Bartlett's operations in the UK, added: "Our acquisition of Canopy Tree Services will expand Bartlett's scientific plant healthcare services for more residential and commercial property owners within the East Midlands, which will go a long way toward improving the health and beauty of their trees and landscapes."
Bartlett Tree Experts announced recently that it is developing a new 50-acre arboretum and research lab centre in Spencers Wood, near Reading. The new facility is expected to be operational by 2025 and will serve as a research, diagnostic and educational centre for the group’s clients and arborists across the UK and Ireland.
