A veterinary group has expanded its reach with the acquisition of a firm based in the South West of England. Linnaeus has acquired Garston Veterinary Group, a firm serving small animal patients across Somerset and Wiltshire.
Garston, which was established in 1911, runs a 24/7 hospital in Frome which is equipped with operating theatres, consulting rooms, onsite laboratories, X-ray services and ultrasound. The company also operates several small animal surgeries in Warminster, Trowbridge, Melksham and Westbury.
Following the acquisition, Garston’s leadership team, comprised of Nick Hill, John Gould and Andy Woodward, will remain with the business, while Linnaeus will invest in the company’s growth and staff development plans.
Commenting on the acquisition, Linnaeus’ Director of Business Development Lisa Poyser said: “Garston is a welcome addition to Linnaeus, as its commitment to delivering high-quality care for pets and their owners reflects our aims and priorities. Garston has a dynamic team that is constantly looking at ways to improve patient care, offer more services and update their skills. We’re offering our support by investing in their plans for growth and staff development.”
John Gould, Lead Clinical Director at Garston Veterinary Group, added: “We have exciting plans for expanding the care we can offer to patients and working with Linnaeus will help us to realise these ambitions. Joining Linnaeus also enables us to tap into a national network of clinical expertise, and I look forward to working closely with our new colleagues across the UK.”
