A hotel in Warwickshire that has a history dating back to the 17th century has been acquired by an Indian group off a guide price of £2.75 million. The Kings Court Hotel is a 60-bedroom hotel located near to Alcester.
The hotel has been acquired by Indian group Nanak Hotels in a move that represents its first expansion into the region. The group already operates a portfolio of properties in the UK and says it plans to invest in refurbishing and repositioning the Kings Court Hotel.
The venue is located on a 4.2-acre site between Redditch and Alcester and has expanded into a major hospitality business, featuring 60 en-suite letting rooms and extensive facilities for events and conferences, including providing capacity for weddings with up to 130 guests.
In addition, the hotel also features its own on-site pub and brasserie, as well as numerous dining spaces.
Kings Court Hotel was brought to market by Colliers’ specialist hotels team after the former owner, who operated several hospitality businesses in the region, decided to retire.
Nanak Hotels director Harpreet Saluja said: "We're excited to bring Kings Court Hotel into our portfolio as our first acquisition in Warwickshire. It's a business with a strong foundation and loyal customer base, and we see great potential to enhance and evolve the hotel for the future while preserving its heritage."
The former owners, who had operated the hotel for more than 30 years, stated that they were “pleased to see it pass into the hands of a new owner who shares our passion for hospitality and has the vision to take it even further."
In a statement, Josh Sullivan and Peter Brunt from Colliers’ hotels team said that the sale process had “attracted strong interest” as a result of Kings Court Hotel’s “size, location, and trading performance”.
