Solicitors Macdonald Henderson has acquired Glasgow counterpart Ferguson Whyte Solicitors partly to benefit from the city’s trendy West End.
Glasgow-based Macdonald Henderson Solicitors offers services to both businesses such as commercial property, commercial disputes and corporate recovery and individuals including trusts and powers of attorney.
Ferguson Whyte is one of the longest established firms of solicitors in the West End of Glasgow, offering a wide range of private client and property services to individuals, couples and families.
The firm will be known as Macdonald Henderson, incorporating Ferguson Whyte with offices in the city’s centre and West End.
Macdonald Henderson believes that the deal will further strengthen its collective service offering.
David Beveridge, Managing Director of Macdonald Henderson said: “This is an exciting moment for both firms, which enhances our client services, in the areas of residential property and private client. Led by Martin Ferguson and Helen Whyte, Ferguson Whyte has established a formidable reputation, buying and selling properties for many hundreds of clients, from professional investors to first time buyers, and has a knowledge of the West End property market which is second to none. The West End of Glasgow is one of the most evocative locales in Scotland, to live and work.”
Indeed, according to one recent report it is one of the ‘coolest neighbourhoods in the world’ attracting people moving from London and Edinburgh.
Beveridge added that looking ahead Macdonald Henderson will continue on its trajectory of growth and expand its key practice specialisms of Corporate, Property, Private Client and Dispute Resolution.
Martin Ferguson said: “From our first meeting with them we knew that they were the right fit for us allowing us to expand and enhance the range of quality specialist advice and legal services we can offer to our very loyal client base whilst maintaining for them the continuity and importance of our location in the West End.”
Macdonald Henderson was formed in 1988 and underwent a management buyout in 2009 led by Beveridge.
