CSI Limited, a West Midlands-based provider of mission critical managed IT services, has been acquired by US data centre and network optimisation group Park Place Technologies. According to Park Place Technologies, the deal is one of the most significant acquisitions in its history.
Founded in 1983, CSI provides IT services to mid and large-sized corporates with complex IT requirements, supporting companies in regulated sectors including manufacturing, retail and financial services. The deal is the latest change in ownership for the company, which was previously acquired from MML Capital Partners by Permira Credit Solutions in 2023.
The company’s service portfolio, which will now be incorporated into Park Place Technologies' offering, spans hybrid cloud, backup as a service, cybersecurity and disaster recovery. The firm has expertise in storage, infrastructure software and IBM Power Systems.
Alan Watkins, chairman of CSI, stated: "As our clients accelerate their digital transformation journeys and embrace hybrid cloud solutions, CSI's role as a mission-critical partner has never been more vital. The opportunity to expand our reach and deliver even greater value—faster and at scale—is a significant and exciting step forward.”
Watkins said that discussions between CSI and Park Place Technologies demonstrated that the companies “share a common vision” and described joining the group as “a natural next step” for the firm, its clients, employees and partners.
Park Place Technologies President and Chief Executive Chris Adams added: “CSI Ltd brings exceptional talent, deep hybrid cloud expertise, and a stellar reputation for service excellence.”
"By joining forces, we're unlocking new possibilities for our customers around the world, delivering smarter, more agile IT solutions that power transformation. This acquisition not only expands our capabilities – it accelerates our vision of becoming the world's most comprehensive, customer-focused IT lifecycle partner.”
