A school building in Blackpool is up for sale and could provide a number of uses as a commercial property.
The site of the former Arnold School is currently sitting empty after the school moved all the pupils across to the new Clifton Drive South site, after the school merged with King Edward VII and Queen Mary School. The new site was updated at a cost of around £6 million before the students moved across, with a new sports hall, junior school and extensive ICT infrastructure redevelopment and refurbishment taking place.
Owned by United Church Schools Trust, the empty site is 17.5 acres and includes sports fields and buildings. It is being marketed for sale by Edward Symmons and is expected to provide opportunities to developers or commercial enterprises.
Robert Diggle, partner at the agents' Liverpool office, told the Lytham St Anne's Express: “The school site represents an opportunity for comprehensive residential development, subject to planning, but we also expect demand from other sectors of the market that might include nursing home or flat operators wishing to convert the existing school buildings on Lytham Road.”
