One of the most famous hotels in Donegal, Northern Ireland, has come onto the market.
The four-star Shandon Hotel, a popular haunt with many visitors to the area, has stunning views across Sheephaven Bay and Marble Hill Strand.
It comprises 71 bedrooms, a leisure complex with pool, several tennis courts and a nine-hole pitch and putt golf course.
The hotel also boasts a self-contained spa located within the grounds, with eight treatment rooms, including a luxurious ‘relaxation room’ which has sea views.
The hotel has been put up for sale by its former owners, Dermot and Catherine McGlade, after it fell into receivership in February this year.
Letterkenny-based estate agency Sherry FitsGerald Rainey has been appointed to handle the sale of the hotel, which has a guide price of £1.34 million. The hotel will be sold as a going concern, and both it and the spa have opened for the current season.
Dermot Rainey, from Sherry FitsGerald Rainey, told the BBC, “It's a fine property with a lot going for it. The phone is already ringing from people who are interested.”
