Care home operator Dovehaven Care Homes has acquired Callands Care Home in Warrington. The acquisition is the company’s third in the space of two months, following its previous purchases of Avonleigh Gardens Care Home in Oldham and Wigan’s Ashton View nursing home.
Callands Care Home, which has 120 registered beds, will become the group’s largest care home. Following completion, the care home is currently unrated, but was previously rated as “inadequate” by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Having acquired the care home, Dovehaven now aims to invest in the site and implement significant improvements in order to bring its standards back up to a “good” rating.
Jenny Davies, CEO of Dovehaven Care Homes, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Callands Care Home to the Dovehaven family. While we recognise the work needed to improve the home’s CQC rating, we are confident in our ability to deliver the transformative changes Callands deserves.”
“We are committed to investing in the care facility, employee training, and resident well-being programmes to ensure Callands thrives once again. We are excited to embark on this journey with the dedicated Callands team and residents, and we look forward to building a bright future together.”
A company spokesperson said: "Dovehaven acknowledges the challenges faced by Callands Care Home and extends their gratitude to the previous owners, HC-One, for their cooperation in ensuring a smooth transition."
Dovehaven Care Homes is a care provider operating across the North West of England. The company provides nursing, dementia and specialist health care to more than 1,000 people across more than 20 homes, located across Liverpool, Wigan, Southport, Preston and Accrington.
