The Dunalastair Hotel in Kinloch Rannoch, Perthshire has been acquired out of administration by a local estate. The hotel was previously owned and operated by Henley Homes hotel management company Rogue City Hotel Group.
The property was put up for sale with an asking price of £3.25 million in September 2024. However, the company fell into administration two months later and Rogue City Hotel Group was formally dissolved at the start of July 2025.
Two other hotels owned and operated by the group, The Wellington Glasgow and The Hobson Cambridge, were acquired earlier this year by Australian firm TFE.
Dunalastair Hotel can trace its origins back to an 18th century drovers inn, with the current incarnation dating to the late Victorian period and a more recent refurbishment bringing the hotel up to a five-star standard. The hotel comprises 32 suites, all overlooking an inner courtyard.
The Dunalastair opened as the first luxury property in Rogue City Hotel Group’s portfolio in 2017. The hotel's location, close to Loch Rannoch in Highland Perthshire, provides easy access to sites including Loch Tummel, Loch Tay and Ben Lawers.
It has now been acquired by the Lord Rannoch Estate, which also owns and operates the nearby Loch Rannoch Hotel, Spa and Estate, for an undisclosed sum. The sale was facilitated by Graham + Sibbald, acting on instructions from joint administrators Julie Tait & Stuart Preston of Grant Thornton.
Graham + Sibbald Hotel + Leisure Consultancy Alistair Lethem said: "The Dunalastair Hotel Suites will be an ideal addition to the Loch Rannoch Estate Ltd with the ability to offer the spa and leisure facilities of the Loch Rannoch Hotel to guests at the 5-star Dunalastair Hotel, as well as increasing the choice of restaurant options for guests at both hotels.”
“Kinloch Rannoch is beautifully remote and yet very accessible being only a 15-mile drive from the main A9 road, making it a unique holiday destination.”
