A Government-owned estate is being put on the market as part of a series of money saving measures being implemented.
Bramshill House in Hampshire is up for sale for £25 million. The property is Grade II listed and has 43,000 square feet of accommodation, which has been used by the Government as a police training college.
In addition to the house itself, the sale includes a historic park covering 260 acres, with deer grazing, woodlands, a lake and formal gardens.
Emma Cleugh, partner with Knight Frank Institutional Consultancy department, who is handling the sale, has said that the property could be used for a variety of commercial or alternative uses.
"Bramshill's rich history is part of its appeal but also its modern facilities bring it right into the 21st century," she observed. "Bramshill represents an unequalled opportunity to the market - whether for continued institutional/training/educational uses or alternative uses and further development."
The property was built between 1605 and 1615 and has a total of 15 bedrooms, a chapel, lounges, several state rooms and a long gallery. In addition to this there are several buildings on the estate that are separate to the Jacobean mansion. These include a sports hall, several staff houses, separate en-suite housing and restaurants.
