A four-star Lake District hotel has been brought to market for under £1 million as its owners seek to retire. The Brantwood Country Hotel, located in the village of Stainton, has a history dating back to the 18th century.
The hotel was bought by current owners Richard and Niki Langley in 2007 and since then it has developed a strong reputation among both locals and tourists for its accommodation, food and hospitality.
The Langleys are now seeking to retire and have engaged property specialists Christie & Co to bring the hotel to market. The Brantwood is being marketed with a freehold asking price of £900,000.
The Brantwood is well-situated within the Lake District, just to the north of Ullswater and close to Penrith. The hotel offers seven guest bedrooms, as well as a public bar and restaurant, with the restaurant also featuring a private dining rooms with space for up to 20 covers.
Also included in the sale is a two-bedroom owners’/managers’ cottage located next to the hotel.
Graham Wilkinson, Lake District based hotel agent at Christie & Co, commented: "It is a pleasure to be invited by Richard and Niki to find a new owner for the Brantwood Country Hotel.”
“The excellent reputation of this business reflects Richard and Niki’s commitment to their guests and the community. We will work hard to find a suitable new owner to take the business forward as Richard and Niki retire."
Richard Langley said that the Brantwood was located in “one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District”, adding that he and Niki were seeking to find an owner with the “same enthusiasm” to take over the business when they retire.
