The Manchester-based pub operator and brewer JW Lees has added another acquisition to its portfolio of 172 commercial premises.
The operator has purchased the freehold of The Turnpike Inn at Rishworth Moor in West Yorkshire from Blue Moon Pub Company.
Blue Moon – which is run by the former managers at pub giant JD Wetherspoon, Lee Roberts and Sarah Dinning – sold the pub to JW Lees for an as yet undisclosed sum.
The sale of the Turnpike Inn - which comprises a bar, large function room able to cater to parties or conferences and six bedrooms – was managed by business and property services firm Fleurets.
Director of property at JW Lees, Simon Lees-Jones, told the Morning Advertiser, “We are delighted with the acquisition of this high quality destination food house. It was brought to us in an offmarket deal through Fleurets and we were told it was something we should take a serious look at.”
Blue Moon also runs another pub, the Honest Lawyer in Ripponden, and leases two, the Malthouse in Rishworth, and the Sun in Lightcliffe, from pub operator Enterprise Inns.
