Chris Evans, the new host of car show Top Gear, has put the Chiddingfold pub he co-owns with Camilla Hansen on the market for more than £1 million, reports Get Surrey.
The Mulberry Inn in Chiddingfold, which the pair have owned for 10 years, has been advertised by Christie & Co with a guide price of £1.25 million. Chris Evans previously described the country pub as his main base of operations for planning the new Top Gear episodes, which will start airing on the BBC from May 2016. The news attracted car enthusiasts to the pub from all over the UK.
The pub, which has proved popular with both leisure and corporate customers, features a timber frame veranda with space for 70 covers, six accommodation rooms and a well-maintained garden. There is also a large car parking area for customers.
Co-owner and manager Miss Hansen said: “We always said we would move on in 10 years. I’ve been here for 10 years and now I'm looking for a new challenge. That was always part of our plan.”
Richard Wood of Christie & Co said: “Having been run under management for a number of years, The Mulberry Inn represents a fantastic opportunity for either an existing owner/operator or multiple operator to acquire a well established business with a high reputation.”
