Building services contractor NG Bailey has acquired Schneider Electric’s Substation Engineering Services (SES) division.
Schneider is a provider of power engineering and facilities solutions, with its SES division operating as a provider of engineering capital replacement and ‘hard FM’ maintenance for over a decade.
The division largely works with electricity distribution network operators (DNOs) and private network owners across substations and networks, providing capital works and maintenance.
Its acquisition will add £10 million in annual turnover to NG Bailey, along with more than 70 of Schneider’s highly trained staff. With the acquisition, NG Bailey is able to widen its range of services within the electricity distribution sector.
Schneider Electric’s SES division will become part of NG Bailey’s services division and will operate under the Freedom brand, acquired by NG Bailey in March 2018. NG Bailey is headquartered in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, and operates sites across the UK.
Commenting upon the completion of the acquisition, David Hurcomb, NG Bailey chief executive, said: "Bringing the SES division into the NG Bailey fold provides a natural extension to the range of services we already offer – particularly engineering and maintenance."
The transaction was led by Jonathan Stockton, NG Bailey Group strategy and performance director, with deal support from KPMG Transaction Services Director Nigel Hinchliffe, legal due diligence from Gareth Saynor of CMS, and tax diligence from Deloitte’s Head of Private Tax Andrew Coticelli.
