Ma Cuisine in Twickenham – the first restaurant in a small French cuisine chain in South West London - is being sold as a leasehold interest with rent of £34,000 a year.
John McClements, who previously held a Michelin star at the site before it was rebranded as Ma Cuisine in 2004, has appointed marketing agents Christie and Co to oversee the sale. They stated that they are seeking "all realistic offers" for the site, which is located between Twickenham railway station and Twickenham stadium in an affluent area.
The 150-cover restaurant is being run as a French Bistro-style eatery and its success enabled McClements to open two other branches under the Ma Cuisine name in nearby Kew and Barnes, although the Barnes site has now been rebranded as Le Provence after being referred to as the weakest in the mini-chain by McClements himself.
The chef and restaurateur also owns a fine dining restaurant and a North African dining room in Kew, as well as the Grill Room Steakhouse in Twickenham.
Christie and Co’s Barry Fitzgerald said, "This represents a superb opportunity for the right operator to acquire an excellent business, which trades in a great location."
