Angal Limited, a business that helps generate money for charities, has been purchased by SmithBaker Limited.
Based in Sussex, Angal has raised millions of pounds for several charities across the globe; it operates from two sites - Rustington and Bexhill-on-Sea in Sussex and has 11 staff. Its subsidiary Angal Collecting Boxes and Devices Limited, designs and makes money collecting boxes and is behind some of the most highly recognised collection boxes over the past 50 years.
SmithBaker was formed by the company behind the foreign money conversion firm Coin Co plc (CCI). Based in West Sussex, Coin Co helps companies looking to recoup foreign coins for charity and works in several countries including Germany, France, Ireland, New Zealand, Morocco and North America.
The sale precedes retirement for the owner of Angal, Alan Rolf, who commented on the deal: “There is a great synergy between Angal and CCI and I am delighted that John and the Directors of CCI have the vision to progress the business and that they will be doing so with the existing staff.”
A relationship between Angal and SmithBaker has been nurtured over the past 15 years, and SmithBaker jumped at the chance to buy the business.
