Staffordshire moving firm, John Lomas Removals, has regained its independence following a management buyout by its holding company.
The business was bought by Edinburgh-based Clockwork Holdings Group in 2007. After facilitating impressive growth for the company, the management has bought the company back off Clockwork, in a deal spearheaded by new managing director, Rob Horrobin.
Horrobin has been with the firm for 13 years, after starting as a removals operative. At the time of the MBO he was the company's branch manager, but said that he is now relishing the chance to continue the company's growth trajectory.
"As a management team, we are excited about the growth prospects for the business," he told The Business Desk. "John Lomas Removals already has a strong presence within the Midlands, but we are not going to rest on our laurels as we have ambitious plans to grow the business over the years to come."
John Lomas removals has been in business for more than 20 years, working from its headquarters in Cannock.
Jas Singh, from the company's legal advisors, Staffordshire law firm, Ansons, said that the deal will enhance the business's prospects and has worked out very well for all involved.
"This MBO has allowed the previous owners to hand the business over to an experienced team who know the company and market very well," he explained.
