West Sussex-based JS Air Curtains has undergone a management buy-out.
The company, formed in 1999, supplies a wide range of air curtains in the UK and abroad, covering everything from economical units for small shop doorways to large industrial units for warehouses. Its customers include British Airways and retail giant John Lewis.
An air curtain is a unit installed above doorways or openings creating an invisible air barrier between the exterior air and the conditioned interior air. They can control indoor climates, improve energy efficiency and stop flying pests, dust, debris, and wind from entering a building.
The company has most recently been trading as a division of Condair Limited. Tony Fleming, former managing director of Condair UK, led the management buy-out and will now run JS Air Curtains as an independent business.
Fleming believes the move heralds a new era for JS Air Curtains, with a 'fantastic opportunity to invest in the future development of the business, while continuing to provide the air curtain market with the highest quality bespoke solutions and products'.
Although there has been a change of ownership, JS Air Curtains intends to continue to operate with the same dedicated technical applications team, who have transitioned over from Condair Limited. 'This will not only ensure continuity of service, but allow us to uphold our commitment to deliver the highest standards of support and industry-leading products to our customers," it said.
Danos Athanasi, corporate partner at DMH Stallard, acted for JS Air Curtains and led on the deal. He said: 'It was a privilege to work on this transaction for Tony and such a great effort from Chris Gleeson and the DMH Stallard team to close in short order. An exciting time ahead for Tony and his team and we are very much looking forward to working with them and being part of their journey going forward.'
