Pybus Recruitment, an automotive recruitment company based in Sunderland, has undergone a management buy-in (MBI). The MBI, advised on by Swinburne Maddison, sees Automotive Executive Nigel McMinn, a former director at Lookers, take ownership of the business, assuming the role of director and majority shareholder.
Pybus Recruitment has more than 70 combined years of automotive industry experience and has provided recruitment services for more than 30 years. The company supports a wide range of businesses, ranging from family-run dealerships to national PLCs and filling roles from service departments and sales to accident repair and management positions.
Nigel McMinn commented: "I've been fortunate to know and work with many talented people over the last 30 years in automotive, so I'm delighted to be joining a business like Pybus Recruitment that can help them further their career ambitions."
McMinn added that Pybus Recruitment has a “strong foundation and reputation” and that he would be looking to build on that, enhancing the company’s offering and establishing it as “the go-to recruitment partner for automotive businesses across the UK.”
Following the MBI, Pybus Recruitment founder Colin Pybus will remain actively involved with the firm as a director, providing continuing guidance and support to the internal team, clients and candidates.
Colin Pybus said: "We've already established Pybus Recruitment as a leading specialist automotive recruitment company. With Nigel's connections, I'm confident we will continue to attract the top talent in the UK automotive sector."
The transaction was led by Swinburne Maddison partner and Head of Corporate Martyn Tennant, with support from solicitor Alex Siddle and trainee solicitor Imogen Bosanko.
Martyn Tennant said that the MBI “not only strengthens Pybus Recruitment's position in the automotive sector but also reflects the shared vision and values that will drive the business forward."
