Swansea-based Treforys Tiny Tots Day Nursery has undergone a management buy-out. The creche and day nursery, which has been operating since 1991, offers a range of services from holiday play schemes to community dental schemes.
Under the management buy-out long-standing managers Emma Bendle and Lauren Smith will take the reins from founders Julie and Phillip Trick. They said the transition was carried out to ensure stability for staff, parents and children.
Swansea-based Peter Lynn and Partners Solicitors led the MBO alongside Ferguson & Peters Chartered Accountants. The deal was facilitated by Peter Lynn and Partners’ Corporate Solicitors, Rob Cherry and James Lewis-Hyndman.
"When we first explored the possibility of taking over the nursery, we knew we needed a legal team that truly understood our business and could guide us every step of the way," said Bendle. "From the outset, Peter Lynn and Partners provided expert advice and made what could have been a stressful process incredibly straightforward."
Her co-owner Smith said: "We had so much support from James and Rob throughout the process. Their knowledge, professionalism, and ability to navigate the legal intricacies of the MBO were second to none. We couldn’t have done this without them."
In a joint statement the new co-owners added: “We are incredibly proud to take on the ownership of Treforys Tiny Tots. This nursery has been a huge part of our lives, and we are excited to continue providing the high-quality care, fun-filled learning, and nurturing environment that makes it so special. Our commitment is to ensure that every child who walks through our doors receives the very best start in life.”
Parents and staff will experience no disruption from the buyout, with the daily operations of the nursery continuing as usual.
James Lewis-Hyndman, corporate solicitor at Peter Lynn and Partners, said: "It has been a pleasure to work with Emma and Lauren on this transaction. We always strive to support businesses in achieving their growth and succession plans and seeing Treforys Tiny Tots transition so smoothly into the hands of its existing managers is a fantastic outcome."
