Wilkins Kennedy, a leading accountancy firm, will merge with the Maidstone office of Day, Smith and Hunter (DSH).
The merging of the companies will create a combined company with 72 partners with an expected turnover of £47m. It’s anticipated that the merger will be completed on 30 September. Once completed, the Maidstone office of Day, Smith and Hunter will trade as Wilkins Kennedy.
In a statement, Rob Reynolds who is regional managing partner of Wilkins Kennedy’s southern region, said: “We are delighted to be joining forces with DSH, a firm that is well established and very highly respected throughout the region.
"This merger provides us with a significant base in the centre of the county to support our growing client base. We look forward to welcoming our new colleagues to the WK team.”
Mike Startup, partner at Day, Smith and Hunter, said, “We are delighted to be merging with Wilkins Kennedy, which has a similar client base to ourselves and shares our ethos with regards to client care.
In addition, DSH’s second office, in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, will merge with another accountancy firm, Mercer & Hole. Mercer & Hole, also a top 50 accountancy firm, already have offices located in London, St Albans and Milton Keynes. This merger is anticipated to increase the firm’s reach and presence in the South East and the Home Counties, in particular.
Three partners from the DSH Rickmansworth office will become Mercer & Hole partners once the merger has gone through in October. Mark Cassidy, David Jones and Sandy Bell will continue being based from Rickmansworth.
In a short statement, Mercer & Hole said DSH were a “natural fit” with the company’s ethos. “This is a progressive development for Mercer & Hole which will extend the firm’s geographical reach and further strengthen their presence in the South East. Mercer & Hole are already a Top 50 Accountancy Firm,” it said.
