The company behind a group of five hotels in Surrey and Hampshire, Hollybourne Hotels, has entered administration.
Three partners at Zolfo Cooper, Nick Cropper, Ryan Grant and Anne O’Keefe, were hired as the joint administrators of the company and its parent on Wednesday 12 February.
The hotels – Alton House Hotel in Alton, Red Lion Hotel in Basingstoke, Manor House Hotel in Guildford, Georgian House Hotel in Haslemere and Farnham House Hotel, Farnham – are to continue trading and all existing wedding bookings will be honoured, the administrators assured.
Zolfo Cooper was called in after the chain failed to arrange credit terms with its lender. The administrators will put the hotels up for sale "in due course".
Mr Cropper said: “We believe the hotels are attractive to a range of potential buyers and we will bring the hotels to the market in due course. We would also like to thank the staff for their continued support and professionalism during this process."
The hotels are all three-star and all include conference and wedding facilities. The Manor House Hotel and Georgian House Hotel both have an Aqua Health Club & Spa.
