A new buyer is being sought for rugby club Bradford Bulls after its current directors walked out, placing the club back in administration.
The chairman of Bradford Bulls 2014 Ltd, Mark Moore, announced the company’s exit after the club was docked six points by the Rugby Football League for entering administration for the second time in two years.
This marks the second time the Bulls have been docked the maximum of six points for breaking the Super Leagues’ operational rules.
The administrator David Wilson is to inform the Bulls’ staff, to include the players, of recent developments at a meeting. Blake Solly, a Rugby Football League official, told the Guardian there has been “some interest already in the club and that those parties are still interested in taking the club on”.
The situation is looking brighter for the club than when it last entered administration in 2012, Solly continued.
The club’s last owner Oman Khan, the local restaurant owner who saved the club with local MP Gerry Sutcliffe in 2012, left the club last September due to ill health, and a few months later launched a legal action against the directors who he said had agreed to buy him out.
